So here I am, staring at a blank blog. What am I going to do with it? I'll do what I do on FB. I'll share projects and ideas, recipes and fun things I find. I'll organize, transform, design and share some of the inspiration ideas I find.
But first, a little about me. Do you ever wish you could go back and tell your 18 year old self to do things differently? I do... If I could do things over, and go talk to that younger and naive version of myself, I think I would have suggested I go to school to be an interior designer. Not the stuffy, everything has to be a certain way, type of designer. But rather the kind that designs a comfy, eclectic, homie home. And I would also have been the "we can find that for lots cheaper" kind of designer. I'm not the "price is no object" kind of person, and to be totally honest, there is no greater high for me than to be able to achieve an expensive look, for tons cheaper. Although this is something that I've always LOVED, I don't think that this was something I realized I could do while I was in college. So my degree is in teaching, and I love it, but I really loved the idea of decorating the classroom and making it a place kids would want to hang out and learn. So my "passion" as my daughter calls it, is really in the home... making it feel like a home. For the last 16 years that's what I've done with our house. It's gone through many transformations, lots of paint colors, different styles, and now one HUGE renovation. I've learned a lot over the years, and now I can use that to help friends and readers. I'll take you shopping to find some fun things you can use in your home... and we'll do it on a budget! I'll show you some before and after organization projects, redo some fun furniture pieces, and I'll even cook some yummy recipes to share as well. My home isn't perfect...but I like to say that for us... it's PERFECTLY IMPERFECT.
